Jessica at Stilettos & a fishing pole made a little post today about her tattoos, and I now see that it's a link up via another awesome lady named Raven who runs a pretty cool blog named A Momma's Desires and Pacifiers {{where do these ladies come up with such awesome blog names!!!????}}
Anyway here goes the awkward&awesome story of my tattoos....
I got my first one when I was newly 18 and being your typical rebellious teen. My Nana cried when she saw it... my family think tattoos are trashy... whatever, y'all just aren't cool!
I got it done in this little tattoo shop in downtown Austin, by a guy who literally was brand new to doing tats. The only reason I am happy that I got it, is because I drew it up myself! So... that's kind of special, but other than that it's your typical ankle tattoo.
{It needs touching up, FOR SURE}
Now I am not against tattoos at all, and I think if done right they can be beautiful and meaningful and most of the time you don't have to regret them... Unfortunately for me, that's not the case :( I have another tattoo that I thoroughly regret. Yeah ppl, I am about to admit a deep, dark, secret....
I broke the Cardinal Rule of getting a tattoo...
NEVER TATTOO A BOYFRIEND'S/GIRLFRIEND'S NAME ON YOUR BODY.
This story is still really funny to me... I had been dating a guy that I had known since high school for a while, we were living together and things were pretty serious when I get a picture via text one day that looks like a tattoo with my name on it. I start to laugh thinking he must have found the pic online and tried to trick me... then I realized hold on... I'm dating a country guy with a phone from the 90's who never gets online and that chest looked a little too familiar....
OH.MY.GOD.
He got my name tattooed on him without telling me and at first I freaked out, then after the shock wore off I thought the typical head-over-heels-in-love-girl-thing "Aww, he loves me, and we are perfect together!" It took him a few months of convincing before one drunken night I found myself sitting in a tattoo parlour getting this on the back on my neck....

| Nana im glad you weren't here to witness this one... |
Yeah... I couldn't have picked a worse location on my body if I tried... Needless to say... I regret it. Maybe if we had worked out, it would have been alright... who would have thought two 20 year old kids wouldn't stay together forever.... right?? Anyway, I'm glad to get this off my chest. Nowadays when people ask me who "Taylor" is, if they are strangers I tell them it's my niece or something along those lines... just to avoid those awkward looks... and when I tell people the truth, regardless of what they say.. "what were you thinking??" is running through their minds {I can read it all over their faces!} You guys probably thought that too... admit it!!! It's scheduled to be removed pretty soon, so at least it can live in infamy forever on my blog!
Haha anyway this has been fun :) Until next time!

I love your love tattoo!! Simple and small!
ReplyDeleteYeah...I love my husband but I would never ever ever tattoo his name or face or anything like that on me. One of his ex girlfriends got matching tattoos with her boyfriend of about 3 months (hers is on HER FOREARM) and within a month she broke up with him for cheating on her. They got back together and got married but obviously there might be some fundamental problems there...at least you can almost hide yours with hair and clothes!
ReplyDeleteLOL to the name tattoo! I totally have my husbands name tattooed on my ass. Got it AFTER we were married though, so maybe that gave me a little extra good karma :) Love the love one! simple and pretty :) Thanks so much for linking up with me!
