I have learned SOO much about myself over the last 6 months.... more than I could have ever imagined. I have learned that...
I AM changed
I AM brave
I AM independent
I AM worthy
I AM passionate
I AM dedicated
I AM important
I AM successful
I AM smart
and most importantly...
I am strong physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you would have met me a year ago, you would have met a girl who didn't believe she was any of those things that I just listed. You would have met a scared little girl who wasn't willing to do the work to make the changes she needed in her life.
It's amazing what cutting out people and things in your life, that drag you down, will do for your own well being. Focusing on myself has opened so many doors for me that I never knew existed. I am so proud of myself for committing my life to being healthy, pro-active, driven, and just all around happy.
If any of you out there are reading this and you are letting your friends, family or a man that you are with control your life... please think hard about what I am saying. If there is someone there telling you that you shouldn't strive for more, that you shouldn't want change, to just be happy with what you have, please know that you are stronger than that. Who they think you are does NOT define you. YOU define YOU.
Me letting go and moving forward has changed my life forever. I learned that I don't need anyone to lean on or depend on, all I need is ME :)

The sooner a person cuts a toxic person the better. When you have a negative force in your life it's like it blocks positive from coming in. Happy to see you feeling good about life, you listed lots of positives!

ReplyDeleteI have a question, how do you turn that corner, what was it that clicked for you, what happened to create the beginning of those changes. How do you begin to do what you have done with your life?
ReplyDeleteWell my friend, since I don't know who this is and I can't respond via email, I have to keep it brief. It would be hard for me to explain to you what made these changes happen and I can tell you it wasn't just one big turn that changed everything, it was small things that popped up along the way. If you want to know more about my journey it has to do with two boys...er I mean "men" who tried to control me and ended with me finally finding myself and taking control of my life.
